My, oh my! We’re less than a week away from Christmas Day! Santa will soon be on his sleigh, filled with toys for good little girls and boys. When Santa visited us for breakfast this year, he told us an exciting little secret…

Santa LOVES Blue Owl cookies! That may not come as a surprise, and it probably isn’t a secret. However, if you happen to be on the naughty list this year, providing a plate of Blue Owl treats may just get you back in Santa’s good graces. 😉

If you enjoy baking your own holiday treats, I have a special gift for you today: my recipe for Decorated Butter Cookies from my Seasoned with Love cookbook.

Cookies

½ cup butter

¾ cup sugar

1 TBS. milk

1 egg

½ tsp. vanilla

1 ¼ cups flour

¼ tsp. salt

¼ tsp. baking powder

Preheat oven at 375. In a medium bowl, cream butter, sugar and milk with an electric mixer at medium speed until well blended. Beat in egg and vanilla. Set aside. In a bowl, combine flour, salt and baking power. Blend flour mixture into butter mixture. Roll out dough on a floured surface, ¼ inch thick. Cut out shapes and bake at 350 for 7-9 minutes or until lightly browned. Thoroughly cool on a wire rack before decorating with butter cream icing.

Butter Cream Icing

½ cup butter

4 cups powdered sugar

¼ cup milk

1 tsp. vanilla

Food coloring, as desired

Colored sugars

Cream butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy. Add milk and vanilla. Mix well. Decorate cookies as desired with colored icing and colored sugars.

Enjoy! And remember that Dreams Really Do Come True…especially at Christmas!

All My Love,
