What a lovely February it is in Kimmswick! As winters in Missouri go, we’ve had our ups and downs, but so far it hasn’t been too bad. We’ve been celebrating Valentine’s Day with a wonderful romantic flair. On Saturday, many sweet couples enjoyed a delicious candlelight meal together. Tomorrow, we will dim the lights again and serve another amazing romantic meal. We hope that you will join us!

In the spirit of this holiday, tomorrow many people will exchange flowers, jewelry, cards, candy and more to express their feelings. It is lovely to stop, in the hustle bustle of this sometimes dreary world, and tell people how much you care.

Friends, let me encourage you to make this your goal, not just on Valentine’s Day, but throughout the year. Each day is a gift, and a time to let people know that you care. So, take a moment, today:

*Call up an old friend to reconnect. Share lunch or a slice of pie and a cup of coffee. Catch up, reminisce, celebrate the moment together.

*Enjoy a family dinner together, unrushed and without electronic devices. Ask questions and listen to the answers.

*Plan a simple activity like a quick board game, a walk around the block or a TV show to watch as a family. Savor the moment.

*Send a card to a loved one. It will be much appreciated, especially by those who remember a day when mail came often.

*Connect online. Many criticize social media for preventing meaningful connection and interaction, but the truth is that it is a tool. If you use it for meaningful connections, you will see the benefits.

*Commit a random act of kindness for a stranger, neighbor or person in need. It doesn’t have to be elaborate; every thought counts.

Let’s always remember that Dreams Really Do Come True, and that All You Need is Love (and perhaps a slice of pie.)

All My Love,

~Mary
