Another wonderful Christmas season has come and gone! I hope that you spent your holiday time surrounded by those you love, enjoying good food and great company. I am grateful for another year of celebration here in Kimmswick.

As 2016 comes to an end, many of you will gather to remember the past year and celebrate the promise of new things to come. I wish you great joy and safe festivities.

Of course, your celebration will include delicious treats shared among family and friends. Today, I have a crowd-pleasing favorite to share with you from our cookbook Seasoned With Love. You can serve it with chips, crackers or warm sweet bread. I guarantee that folks will be cheering this recipe as they ring in the New Year.

Brett’s Favorite Spinach Artichoke Dip

4 TBS. margarine

1 small onion, chopped

3 fresh garlic cloves, minced

2 cups artichoke hearts, chopped

3-8 oz packages cream cheese, softened

½ cup sour cream

2 TBS. mayonnaise

¼ cup Parmesan cheese

1 tsp. Garlic salt

½ tsp. garlic powder

dash salt

1 lb fresh spinach, cooked and chopped

Sauté onion, garlic and artichoke hearts in margarine until soft and tender. Soften cream cheese in microwave. Remove and add sour cream, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, garlic powder and salt. Mix well. Add Sautéed onions, garlic and artichoke hearts to cream cheese mixture. Mix well. Stir in spinach. Serve warm with tortilla chips.
