You know what they say: April showers bring May flowers which then bring June weddings! Whichever month a wedding will occur, much of the fun begins with the Bridal Shower. We at The Blue Owl simply adore our brides and we want to see them showered with love, gifts and memories. Today, we share a few ideas to make the bridal shower or couples shower a most memorable event.

On the road. While many brides prefer a more traditional tea or luncheon, some are taking their showers to go. Destinations include local haunts such as bowling alleys or parks, as well as beach trips or spa weekends. For brides who love history and charm, an elegant shower at The Blue Owl Sweet Shoppe followed by shopping and a tour of Historic Kimmswick would certainly fit the bill!

Classic décor. Chalkboard signs and burlap bows have become all the rage. Flowers, flowers, flowers abound. Plus, keeping it simple seems to be the new big idea, as well as using the reusable – for example, creating centerpieces out of the bride’s chosen glassware, which also doubles as a gift, is a creative idea.

Picture this. When it comes to shower décor, games, invitations, placeholders, and more, nothing personalizes a shower like photographs. Photographs of the bride and groom as children make wonderful decorations.

It’s not just fun and games, but it is fun and games. You can repurpose the pictures discussed above in a fun guessing game that includes questions about the couples individual likes and dislikes, dreams and plans, etc.

Write it out. A most beautiful and wonderful trend is to write out memories about the bride and groom. Another idea is to have guests dole out advice for the newlyweds, whether it is of the serious or tongue-in-cheek variety. Gather all the writings into a scrapbook for the couple to enjoy for many years.

Favorite favors and custom creations. No matter the activities and decorations, the food will be remembered for years to come. Nothing makes an event more memorable than a unique cake created with the couple in mind. Send guests home smiling with adorable decorated cookies, cupcakes, candies, or even cuppies!

When it comes to planning a shower, the most important thing to remember is that it is about making the couple truly feel the love of family and friends. Each bride and each groom is unique, and the wedding shower is the perfect day to express that uniqueness. It also the perfect time to remind them that Dreams Really Do Come True!

All My Love,
