Easter is here this Sunday! I love Easter! It is a hopeful sign of spring, and believe me after the snow we had last weekend we Midwesterners are VERY hopeful for spring. Easter is also a rewarding time for us grandparents; watching the kids make a mess of themselves with chocolate bunnies and egg hunts – so much fun.  As well, Easter gives us a time to reflect on renewal and rejuvenation as winter comes to a close and the nature “springs” with new leaves, grassy lawns and flowers in bloom!

The Kimmswick Easter Egg Hunt was cancelled due to all the snow last weekend, it has been rescheduled for this Saturday! Looking forward to seeing you all there! But, before those kids go hunting for eggs, fortify them with some good food and come out for Breakfast with Easter Bunny.  After breakfast the kids can enjoy face painting, crafts, pictures with the Easter Bunny and more at our Blue Owl Sweet Shoppe in Kimmswick! The cost is $17.95 adult $9.95 child. Make your reservations today, 636-464-3128.

We have another event coming up in Kimmswick! On Saturday, April 6 and Sunday April 7, 2013, the City of Kimmswick is celebrating its two great museums; the Anheuser Museum and Estate (open 12pm to 4pm) and the Kimmswick Historical Society Museum (open 1pm to 4pm.). Admission is free to both museums on these days! For additional information, check out the City of Kimmswick page, or contact City Hall at 636-464-7407.

At the Anheuser Museum, visitors are invited to enter a drawing to win an 8×10 photo of the charming Kimmswick Post Office composed by photographer Dave Marlow. At the Kimmswick Historical Society Museum visitors may view a slide show depicting the history of our river town, see the artifacts (all beautifully displayed), and members of the Historical Society will be on hand to answer questions.  Of course, dining with the The Blue Owl first, then heading out for some history is always a good idea : )

I also want to thank my family! They planned the most wonderful surprise party for my birthday! So many wonderful people came out to help me celebrate. Throughout the week I received one amazing wish after another. It was such a glorious reminder of how blessed I truly am. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and for being a part of my “Dreams Really Do Come True!”

All My Love,

~Mary
