The Blue Owl Sweet Shoppe is another “Dream Come True” for Mary Hostetter, owner of the famous Blue Owl Restaurant and Bakery. The Sweet Shoppe features an Old-Fashion Soda Fountain, Candy Store, and a unique gift shop. The Sweet Shop is a natural extension of the Blue Owl, showcasing many delicious sweet treats, such as Candies, 20 flavors of award-winning ice cream, specialty Coffee Drinks, and Hot Chocolates. The Blue Owl Sweet Shoppe is also known for the “Sweetest Birthday Parties”, showers of all kinds, and group gatherings! Candy Classes are available for kids of all ages!

Dear Visitor,
I was raised in Galveston Texas. The value of spending time with one’s children, family and friends was instilled in me by my wonderful and loving parents. They were always taking the neighborhood kids and the Little League Baseball team to the Star Dairy (a local Soda Fountain).
I have fond memories of jumping in the car and heading for the Pier Drive-In for a frosted mug of Ice Cold Root Beer on hot summer nights.  I often dreamed of a place where others could create wonderful memories and family traditions of their own. When the opportunity to purchase the property next door to the Blue Owl first presented itself I thought ‘absolutely not’. I prayed about it and He spoke to me, encouraging me to rethink the matter.  I began to think of the best way to celebrate “The Blue Owls” 24th Anniversary, our precious customers, friends, children and grandchildren.

One thought led to another and “The Blue Owl Sweet Shoppe” was created, including the Eggleston Room, named after my Mom and Dad. The Sweet Shoppe is filled with photos of my precious family.  I hope you can share in this tradition, creating memories that are sure to last forever!
