First and foremost I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, it has made a difference. My Daddy’s eyes have healed beautifully, and he feels so much more positive about having cataract surgery this coming July. Thank you all!
We enjoyed a wonderful meal for Father’s Day, which we celebrated this past Monday evening. That’s how it goes with us, we are always a day late, since we take care of our dear customers first. Father’s Day at The Blue Owl was great! We had about 900 people! The car show was so impressive; the merchants worked so hard to make it a success and they all worked so wonderfully together. There were 91 cars and the money collected went to support our Visitors Center. Thanks to all who participated.
Another wonderful weekend begins in Kimmswick, running from June 21 through 24, 2012. Come join us today to Dine for the Cure. Enjoy a beautiful home cooked meal at The Blue Owl, and don’t forget dessert! The money you spend on your meal will contribute in part to finding a cure for breast cancer. Several of my dear friends and some of our merchants have been personally touched by breast cancer, we are committed to being a part of this weekend.
Next, Shop for the Cure! Many of our adorable local shops will donate a percentage of their proceeds to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. If you like antiques, crafts, gourmet food and gifts, Kimmswick is certainly the place to be. With more than 25 shops, there is something for everyone. For those that participate in the Race, keep on your race t-shirts and you will be provided with a free passport to receive specials and freebies at the shops. Not racing? No problem. The passports are available for a small donation as well. Also, you will be registered to win a Kimmswick Gift Basket!
You will know you are in the right place! Kimmswick goes Pink for the weekend! Pink ribbons will decorate the streets; there will be no questioning that you are in an area that is dedicating a space of time and effort in the name of Breast Cancer Research.
Please do come visit our lovely town this weekend. Let us allow those challenged with surviving breast cancer know that for them and for their families, Dreams Really Do Come True.
All my love
